The “Global Village City Hall” stand brings together local and regional governments

Discover concrete implementations of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on PLATFORMA, AIMF, CLGF, UCLG and UCLG-Africa joint stand. These 5 major associations of local and regional governments – which signed a Framework Partnership Agreement (FPA) in January 2015 with the European Commission – created a real City Hall right in the middle of the EDD Global Village.   • “Let’s team up for climate”, a session on partnerships for climate

Climate change has real impacts on peoples’ and communities. Climate action must therefore start at the local level. This brainstorming session co-organised by PLATFORMA and our French partners AFCCRE and Cités Unies France will establish links between local governments and NGO’s to tackle local impacts and design local strategies on climate change.

  • How can local authorities partner with the Fair Trade movement in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals?

Meet Wouter Boesman, Policy Director at PLATFORMA, during a “Fair Trade” break at the Fairtrade International, the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO), WFTO–Europe and the Fair Trade Advocacy Office stand. He will explain how local and regional governments can work hand in hand with the Fair Trade movement in achieving the UN Global Goals.
