These days of exchange highlighted the cooperation and solidarity promoted by local authorities in the French-speaking world, and the determination of local councillors to move forward together in the face of the major challenges of our time.

The meeting provided an opportunity to :

  • Make the case for local authorities and address a Declaration to the Summit’s Heads of State and Government.
  • Put urban planning on the agenda of the Francophonie, through an international conference bringing together mayors, academics and city professionals.
  • Strengthen their cooperation on common issues (crisis resilience, climate, gender equality, inculcating multilateralism) and adopt the Cooperation Fund program to support member cities’ projects.
