Contribution to the consultation on the Global Public Goods and Challenges programme

In December 2013, in the framework of the programming for the new thematic programme Global Public Goods and Challenges, the European Commission (EC) launched a consultation through the Political Forum on Development.

In February 2014, the European Parliament (EP) also consulted PLATFORMA and the European civil society platforms in order to prepare the EC-EP strategic dialogue.

The PLATFORMA contribution identifies the domains in which a partnership with local and regional governments is desirable in the framework of this programme and the synergies which should be found with the CSO-LA thematic programme.

PLATFORMA also recommends that decentralised and cross-border cooperation be part of the implementations means for this programme.

EC-EP STRATEGIC DIALOGUE

Through the Strategic Dialogue, the European Parliament is associated to the programming of thematic and geographical instruments, whose design and implementation fall under the competence of the European Commission.
