NALAS, in coordination with its member the association MARMARA – Union of Municipalities from Türkiye, organiser of MARUF 2023 (4-7 October), will set up a number of events during this prominent regional Urban Forum in Istanbul.

Among the events figure the NALAS Forum of Women Mayors on 4 October, the Director’s and NALAS Task Force on Energy & Climate meeting on 5 October, as well as side events within the frame of the EU FRIENDSHIP project. For this purpose, a delegation from Darkhan Uul province, the 2^nd largest Mongol city, will attend MARUF ,presenting best practice examples from a transformative project focused on energy-efficient, affordable housing development and the creation of resilient communities. On the other hand, the delegation from Mongolia will organise a meeting and to foster city-to-city partnerships in “Climate Safe, Disaster Resilient, Future Proof Sustainable Cities and Infrastructure”. Additional activities include a comprehensive onsite visit of Beyoglu municipality, renown in Istanbul for its international partnerships and innovative approaches as well as participation during the World Metropolitan Day event on 7 October.
