FEMP is improving access to data on Official Development Assistance by local governments
The Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), with the assistance of the international cooperation technicians of the municipalities and localities of Spain, has designed an online tool to visualise and compare the Official development assistance (ODA) destined to cooperation projects. This application shows data disaggregated by municipality and by recipient country.
The objective of this new statistical analysis tool is to improve access to information on the actions carried out by local entities in the field of development cooperation. Both the statistical graphs and the interactive maps act as a virtual window from which to look at the reality of Spanish municipal ODA.
What is it?
This dynamic tool allows the user to analyse different types of information and statistical data relating to Official Development Assistance (ODA) from local governments in a visual and user-friendly way.
For what?
By means of maps and graphs, the user can analyse the different characteristics of ODA disbursed by the local governments, as well as the countries receiving this aid. The main feature of this tool is that it is possible to study the funding directed to each Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).
For whom?
This tool is aimed at all those who are interested in analysing and comparing the characteristics of ODA from local governments in Spain: cooperation experts, public administration staff and citizens.
This innovative way of showing the reality of municipal ODA in Spain is a clear example of transparency aimed at citizens committed to the 2030 Agenda.
