Découvrez le RFSC : un outil pour planifier et mettre en œuvre le développement durable dans nos territoires

9 mars 2021

How can we turn our cities into more liveable environments? How can our territories make progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals in times of COVID-19? What challenges and opportunities are there for sustainable urban development in the post-COVID recovery period?

Come find out on 15 March (9.00-10.30 CET) during the presentation of the Reference Framework for Sustainable Cities (RFSC). The event will take place during the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe’s (UNECE) Regional Forum on Sustainable Development.

The RFSC is a web tool that assists and guides cities of all shapes and sizes in the implementation of sustainable urban development policies. It offers a specific framework to help cities integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their daily urban policies, from public transportation to housing and waste management, as well as a set of indicators to support monitoring.

The online session will introduce the RFSC to local and regional leaders and urban stakeholders and demonstrate its added value in assessing and monitoring sustainable urban projects. Representatives from cities will share their best practices using the tool and their current urban development priorities during the recovery:

  • Thomas Zamansky, Head of sustainable operational development, Ministry for the Ecological Transition, France
  • Grace Haines, Project Officer for the SDGs, Strasbourg
  • Eduard Donauer, Strategic Planning, Bratislava
