This year’s edition of the Local Leaders’ Climate Academy will be held on 25 and 26 March under the title “Co-Creating Climate Action: Justice-Centred Leadership for Local and Regional Governments”.

As climate impacts intensify, this Local Leaders’ Climate Academy advances a justice-centred vision of climate leadership rooted in equity, participation, shared responsibility, and global citizenship. By centering women, youth, and marginalised communities, it connects locally driven adaptation and mitigation with inclusive climate diplomacy and education for global citizenship, fostering solidarity and civic responsibility across borders.

Through capacity-building, peer learning, and the exchange of local practices, decentralised cooperation enables local governments to translate global and European climate goals into concrete, locally grounded action while strengthening mutual learning and shared values.

Day 1 | 25 March:
15.00–17.00 CET | The training will focus on local action, perspectives and examples.

Day 2 | 26 March:
12.00–13.15 CET | Side event online policy dialogue co-hosted by CEMR and Climate Chance open to participants of the Academy.
15.00–17.00 CET | The second day will broaden the scope of action, bringing examples and issues related to multilevel-governance, decentralised cooperation, and European and International perspectives.
