No future for Europe without local governments

The two sessions gathering a huge number of EU and local high level representatives are entitled “A new pact between local authorities and the European Union for the revival of democracy and development” and “Building the Europe of citizens and not that of populism: proposals and concerns from European local authorities”.
The President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani, the EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, CEMR President Stefano Bonaccini, but also several Italian ministers will attend the conference, along with EU mayors from PLATFORMA partners including: Anne Hidalgo (Mayor of Paris, France), Annemarie Penn-Te Strake (Mayor of Maastricht, Netherlands, VNG), Carlos Martínez Mínguez (Mayor of Soria, Spain, FEMP), Luc Martens (Municipal Councillor of Roeselare, Belgium, VVSG), Old?ich Vlasák (Councillor of Hradec Kralové, Czech Republic, SMO CR), Petr Kulhánek (Mayor of Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, SMO CR) or Philippe Laurent (Mayor of Sceaux, France, AFCCRE).
