VVSG’s Sustainable Municipality Week goes international
Since 2018, the Association of Flemish Cities & Municipalities (VVSG) has organised the “Sustainable Municipality Week”. More than 100 municipalities raise an SDG flag at their town halls and celebrate local “sustainable heroes”. The campaign takes place annually from 18 to 25 September.
VVSG is now also urging its members to involve their international twinning partners in the campaign. Joint campaigning highlights the central role of local governments for the 2030 Agenda. At the same time, residents in both municipalities are being sensitised around the SDGs.
A brand new inspiration brochure wants to motivate municipalities from all over the world to participate in the Sustainable Municipality Week: Why participate in the campaign? What communication materials are available in different languages? What creative activities can you set up together? And how did municipal twinning partners already organise such joint participation in previous years?
