CEMR showcased the Bridges of Trust Project at the European Week of Regions and Cities
During the 2024 European Week of Regions and Cities, CEMR hosted a stand dedicated to its Bridges of Trust project. In collaboration with the Association of Ukrainian Cities and supported by U-LEAD, this initiative has strengthened cooperation between EU and Ukrainian municipalities. It has facilitated over 150 partnerships and has become a key source of mutual support, particularly since the full-scale war began in 2022.
From October 8 to 10, our stand focused on the theme of “Municipal Resilience: Bridges of Trust in Ukraine’s Recovery”. Visitors had the chance to explore real-world examples of inter-municipal cooperation, with best practices and insights shared on how municipalities can work together, even in challenging circumstances. These stories — highlighting both successes and obstacles — provided inspiration for others interested in similar partnerships.
As Bridges of Trust continues to support Ukraine’s recovery efforts, the human connections behind the projects remain central to its impact. By bringing together municipal leaders, it emphasises the importance of solidarity and shared knowledge contributing to the country’s gradual integration into the EU.
