From 18 to 25 September, the VVSG is organising the ‘Sustainable Municipality Week’. More than 100 Flemish local authorities participate each year. They highlight the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs), raise the SDG flag at the town hall and celebrate local Sustainable Heroes.

A sustainable society is not feasible without local authorities. They have the experience, proximity and local partners to work on, for example, combating poverty, greening and integration.

The 2025 edition focuses on SDG 11: ‘sustainable cities and communities’. An objective tailored to local authorities. This year, we are also celebrating 10 years of Agenda 2030 and are making it a festive year.
