Discover CONNECT at the Assises de la cooperation décentralisée
PLATFORMA and its partner VNG International are presenting CONNECT during a parallel session at the 5th “Assises de la cooperation décentralisée” on 11 July (9:00-10:45) in the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels.
CONNECT is one of the most recent innovations in international cooperation between local and regional governments – the fruit of a strategic partnership between associations of local and regional governments and the European Commission.
Recently returning from a CONNECTion with the Pursat municipality (Cambodia), Sigrún Árnadóttir, the Mayor of Sandgerði (Iceland), will share her experiences on how entering into direct cooperation within this mechanism. This concrete example will make very clear to the local governments from Europe and partner countries what CONNECT could mean for them.
During this session entitled “Review of recent trends in decentralised cooperation”, the Conference of Peripheral and Maritime Regions (CPMR) will also present its study on “Conceptualizing innovative models of decentralized cooperation and local governments international cooperation”.
