Second edition of “Venice City Solutions 2030”

The second edition of the “Venice City Solutions 2030” event will address the theme “Creating citizenship: the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as an opportunity for all” and will take place in the city of Venice from 24 to 26 October 2019 .

Venice City Solutions 2030 is co-organised by AICCRE and United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), in collaboration with UN-Habitat and United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The initiative benefits from the financial contributions from PLATFORMA and the European Commission, and the technical contribution of the FMDV.

Venice City Solutions 2030 is an annual event that aims to address various aspects of public policy necessary for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda at a local level, believing that the role of local authorities is essential for the achievement of SDGs. It will be an opportunity to identify innovative tools, share challenges and find solutions to make the 2030 Agenda a reality for everyone, starting from the local level.

This year AICCRE invites local governments, global civil society and city innovators to start a discussion on how cities can take advantage of the 2030 Agenda to build citizenship, reach their citizens, communicate better and create greater ties between citizens and its administrations.

The results from Venice will provide contributions for the Durban World Congress (11-15 November 2019) and, therefore, for the 10th session of the World Urban Forum in Abu Dhabi (8-13 February 2020), helping to create new partnerships between administrations local and global stakeholders to show how the 2030 Agenda can offer new opportunities to communicate better with citizens.
