In the framework of its project “Dialogue and Capacity building of local and regional authorities in partner countries in the development and local governance fields”, PLATFORMA will organise a seminar for around 60 participants (representatives of LRAs and LRA associations, CSOs, national governments, EU delegations) in Tbilisi, Georgia, on 14-15 May 2014.

The seminar’s objectives are the following:

• to inform participants about the EC 2013 communication for local authorities and its opportunities;
• to exchange information on support mechanisms available to LRAs and recommendations to better tailor them, including those mechanisms specifically for the region under the Neighbourhood Policy;
• to discuss the national legal framework for local governments and proposals, as well as the financing of local governments in the region and proposals;
• to help develop the research on LRA Associations and their expertise.
