PLATFORMA, UCLG and the African section of UCLG, VNG International, AEBR, AIMF, CLGF, Regions United-FOGAR and the city of Paris organise a seminar with local elected representatives from Africa, so as to strengthen work areas developed in the context of the Structured dialogue.

Taking place in the context of the Commonwealth local governments conference, the seminar will aim at informing participants of the European development agenda, particularly on the upcoming EC communication on local and regional authorities ; exchange of information on strategic planning of development project aiming at local economic development in Africa ; identifying lessons learnt with regards to the successful implementation of development programmes and finally contribute to develop research in the field of associations of LRA.

This is the first of six seminars; the other events will be organised in Latin America, in Asia, in Maghreb, in Eurasia and in the Machrek region. These events will take place in the scope of a work programme specifically designed for partner countries and implemented from 2012 to 2015.
