Taiex and Twinning: cooperation instruments and technical assistance of the European Union
Event organised by the Fons Mallorquí de Solidaritat i Cooperació and by the Fons Català de Cooperació al Desenvolupament and held within the framework of the European Days of Local Solidarity (EDLS), coordinated by PLATFORMA.
The information session, aimed at the technical staff of local administrations committed to development cooperation, will present TAIEX and TWINNING, two instruments of international cooperation and exchange of experiences and technical assistance promoted and financed by the European Union. The final objective is to highlight the range of opportunities and benefits offered by these instruments and encourage their use among staff and promote the development of “public talent” among local and regional public administration officials for the deployment of municipal technical cooperation projects. as a tool of solidarity and learning between local technicians from different administrations in the field of sustainable development.
The session will have the participation and direct intervention of representatives of the Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) of the European Commission, the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIAPP) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Government of Spain (MAEC), expert organisations and promoters of the cooperation and technical assistance instruments that will be presented. Likewise, the session will feature first-hand interventions from public administration officials who have experience in using the instruments.
