WUF 11: “Designing integrated urban strategies and localising the SDGs: experiences from cities using the RFSC tool – Voices from Cities”

“Designing integrated urban strategies and localising the SDGs: experiences from cities using the RFSC tool” – “Voices from Cities” (Room B – Session code: VC B3), 09:00-10:30

Panel session

CEMR is organising a session on “Designing integrated urban strategies and localising the SDGs: experiences from cities using the RFSC tool”. This session is meant to explain how the RFSC helps cities in designing, implementing and monitoring integrated sustainable urban development strategies and/or projects. Cities can review their priorities in light of the European Framework for Sustainable Cities (and its 5 dimensions) and the SDGs (and their 17 objectives). Cities around the world are working and implementing policies to achieve objectives and priorities that have been set locally. In the meantime, national, European and international development goals are driving priorities for the future of cities. How to reconcile multi-scale objectives and priorities for urban development at local level? This session will give an insight on how to use the RFSC tool, from the experiences of cities that have been using it, while engaging a discussion among various types of stakeholders.

The World Urban Forum (WUF) is the biggest global conference on sustainable urbanisation. WUF11 will be held in the Polish city of Katowice from 26-30 June 2022. This will be the first time that the WUF, convened by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), will take place in central Europe.

It is still possible to register to the WUF11 at the following link before 22 June.
