It’s still time to join the GLOCLIMA project – Andalusian Governments against Climate Change
“GLOCLIMA – Andalusian Governments against Climate Change” is a project that aims to combat climate change in Andalusia through the promotion of public policies of local governments and the implementation of concrete actions in their territories in favour of climate commitments in the framework of the 2030 Agenda and the Spanish Strategy for Sustainable Development.
GLOCLIMA, therefore, arises from the need to boost and accelerate the fight against climate change promoted by Andalusian local governments, as well as the promotion of specific initiatives that contribute to this achievement in the territories, especially aimed at the group of medium-sized cities and municipalities in rural areas. It should be noted that this project, implemented by FAMSI and funded by the Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda of the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030, is focused on territorialised food systems, local energy communities and sustainable urban mobility, thus contributing to SDG5. Gender Equality; SDG7. Affordable and clean energy; SDG11. Sustainable cities and communities; SDG12. Sustainable production and consumption; SDG13. Climate action; SDG15. Life of terrestrial ecosystems; and, SDG17. Partnerships for Sustainable Development.
Famsi is currently working to identify the most relevant and impactful transformative initiatives in the fight against climate change in Andalusia at local and provincial level, which will result in a geo-referenced mapping that will be available as successful experiences and best practices, generating possible synergies between territories and replicability.
Workshops have also been designed with technical and political staff from Andalusian local governments to address public policies related to the fight against climate change, reaching a consensus on a strategic document on the fight against climate change.
