“Quito and beyond – The New Urban Agenda”

1 November 2016

The Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the European Union is organising a conference on the implementation of the New Urban Agenda by cities and the links with the Urban Agenda for the European Union and the localisation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The New Urban Agenda adopted at the Habitat III Conference in Quito in October will have to be implemented on the ground on the local level. What does it mean for cities? How does it interact with the Urban Agenda for the European Union which has been formalised in the Pact of Amsterdam under the Dutch presidency in June? How both will foster the implementation and localization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development?

Speakers of a conference organised by the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the European Union will show the interrelation and interaction of the three Agendas and their concrete meaning for the local level.
