The Basque government presents its second report on decentralised cooperation in the world
The Basque Government Agency for Development Cooperation (eLankidetza) together with Euskal Fondoa and in collaboration with the Delegation of the Basque Country to the European Union in Brussels will hold a workshop on Decentralised Cooperation on Tuesday 20 February. At the workshop, eLankidetza will present the 2023 Report on Decentralised Cooperation.
This report continues the process initiated by eLankidetza in 2022 to improve the knowledge and appreciation of this cooperation modality with a monitoring system based on annual reports. This second report shows data on decentralised official development aid (2017-2021) and analyses the aid channelled through civil society organisations.
The workshop aims to encourage debate on the report’s conclusions and to raise awareness of the cases described in the report, which represent different forms of collaboration between subnational governments and civil society organizations in development cooperation.
During the event, Aitor Pérez, author of the report, will present the report and moderate a round table discussion with some of the decentralised cooperation agents studied.
The event will be in-person, in English and will take place at de Delegation of the Basque Government to the EU in Brussels (10.00am-12.30 pm). It will also be broadcast via Zoom with the option of simultaneous interpretation into Spanish. Workshop attendees will have the opportunity to interact via chat.
