The SDGs as a starting point for new municipal partnerships
The Association of Flemish Cities and Municipalities (VVSG) will start a new project in 2024: the SDG partnerships. This experiment will run in 2024 and 2025 and is part of the GLoBe 2022-2026 programme funded by the Belgian Federal Government.
This project moves away from traditional project funding and aims to share knowledge on Good Local Governance through 1-to-1 partnerships on the one hand and larger hubs for knowledge sharing on the other.
A total of 7 Flemish local governments, 4 districts from Rwanda and 3 local governments from Benin are participating. In this two-year project, the local governments will be guided with individual coaching sessions, participate in joint digital sessions and participate in working visits.
The focus of the knowledge exchange is on the cross-cutting theme of participation. How can Local governments communicate clearly, how can we guarantee more accessibility and how can we structurally involve actors in policy formulation, implementation and evaluation.
