NALAS is scaling up minorities’ inclusion in the Western Balkans
NALAS, in a joint effort of GIZ and the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein, is running a project on “Scaling up of minorities inclusion models and strengthening of service delivery in municipal structures in the Western Balkans” from September 2022 until 31 January 2023.
The project includes development and delivery of capacity development measures in Minority Inclusion Models (Minority Commissioner, Social Dialogue Forum and Diversity Management) and dialogue exchange events at regional level.
The focus is on enhancing capacities of local governments, their Associations, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders to apply successfully the inclusion of diversity management in their structures for strengthening the economic, social and cultural human rights of particularly disadvantaged groups.
It aims to further strengthen the applied social approaches in the pilot municipalities in five Western Balkan countries (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania) and extends the knowledge transfer to other interested municipalities and stakeholders.
The measure builds upon the experiences relating to the previous project “Promotion and scaling up of models for inclusion of minorities and other vulnerable groups in the Western Balkans” which was implemented in 2021 by NALAS in coordination with GIZ and the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein.
