PLATFORMA joined forces with AIMF, CLGF, UCLG & UCLG-A to create a City Hall at the European Development Days 2017 (7-8 June, Tour & Taxis, Brussels). We are waiting for you on our “Global Village City Hall” interactive stand!
In January 2015, Commissioner Neven Mimica signed a Framework Partnership Agreement (FPA) with the 5 major associations of local and regional governments: the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF), the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF), the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR)-PLATFORMA, United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and United Cities and Local Governments-Africa (UCLG-A).
This year, the five “FPA signatories” decided to present their actions together at the European Development Days, Europe’s leading forum on development since 2006 leading forum on development since 2006leading forum on development.
The “City Hall” stand is right at the middle of the EDD Global Village! It is divided into four clear areas:
- Discover in the “operations room” 17 concrete examples on how the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) are implemented by towns, cities and regions
- Read and share the publications of the 5 organisers on tablets in the e-library space
- Exchange with our teams and attend short presentations of our actions in the City Council meeting room
- Support our main messages and campaigns by sharing pictures taken in front of the local governments’ wall
At EDD17, PLATFORMA is also organising the “Let’s team up for climate!” brainstorming session (7 June, 18.00-19.15). The French association of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (AFCCRE) and Cités Unies France (CUF) are co-organisers. Discover more about the session on EDD17 website.
