Our partners exchanged with the EU Delegation to Morocco

13 May 2024

Representatives of the EU Delegation to Morocco shared their experiences regarding collaboration modalities and challenges when engaging with local governments in partner countries during an online cluster meeting organised by PLATFORMA.

PLATFORMA second online meeting of the Geographic Dialogue Cluster focused on Morocco on 17 April. The primary goal of this meeting was to gain a better understanding of the challenges of EU Delegations’ work on decentralised cooperation in partner countries. Thanks to the participation of the EU delegation (EUD) in Morocco, PLATFORMA partners were able to confidently share information about their projects in Morocco and exchange insights on the modalities of their collaboration with the EUDs.

Notable PLATFORMA partners active in Morocco, such as FAMSI (Andalusian Fund of Municipalities for International Solidarity), DIBA (Barcelona Provincial Council), SALAR (Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions), and Brussels-Capital Region, provided valuable feedback on their activities and exchanged synergies with the EUD and other participants.

Facilitate multilevel dialogue

The PLATFORMA secretariat is committed to continuing such dialogues with other EU Delegations to facilitate multilevel dialogue and to gain insights into how local and regional governments in the EU can confidently support and contribute to the achievement of the EU’s objectives in partner countries.
