The EDLS 2017 just kicked off!

Here we are! The European Days of Local Solidarity 2017 just kicked off today in Nantes (France). This year, more than 15 cities and regions are participating in the EDLS, to show the world that local and regional governments all together defend solidarity and sustainable development. Let’s have a look at the programme:

  • Solidarity Festival in Nantes Métropole

10-11 November: a 2-day program of exchanges, learning and celebration with a focus on the concept of “reciprocity”

11 November: a Fairtrade breakfast, followed by a series of thematic workshops, conferences, storytelling sessions… and even a multicultural ball!

11 November: a Solidarity fair in Getxo (Basque Country, Spain): “Getxotik Mundura, Mundutik Getxora. From Getxo to the world, from the world to Getxo.”

16 November: a debate on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): how to build up partnerships between local governments, the private sector and civil society for an effective sustainable development for all?

  • Moldovan folklore for secondary and adult schools from Jaunpils

Between 13-18 November, secondary and adult schools from the region of Jaunpils (Latvia) will be introduced to the Moldovan folklore through concerts, art contests and games. A delegation of local representatives from Moldova will visit the region with the aim of strengthening ties and fostering dialogue.

From 10 to 26 November, projection of the movie Silencio del Rio by Carlos Tribiño.
